Job summary

EPITEC is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to support fuel injector assembly and testing operations in a 100% onsite Pontiac facility. The role emphasizes APQP development, process improvement, and data-driven problem solving across manufacturing and quality teams.

You will lead root-cause investigations, create Process Flows, PFMEAs, and Control Plans, and drive efficiency through time-and-motion studies and layout optimizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum of five years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
• Experience creating and facilitating APQP elements, including Process Flows, Control Plans, and PFMEAs.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Experience facilitating virtual and in-person cross-functional meetings.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and engineering reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer, Assembly Engineer, or in a comparable engineering role.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot assembly equipment and support resolution of manufacturing issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for assembly and production processes.
• Investigate first-test-pass failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Create, maintain, and facilitate APQP elements, including PFMEAs, Process Flows, and Control Plans.
• Analyze manufacturing data and quality metrics to identify trends and improvements.
• Conduct time and motion studies to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Review drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation for accuracy.
• Recommend improvements to methods, layouts, and material handling.
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings with quality, manufacturing, engineering, and operations.
• Manage priorities across multiple projects while supporting production needs.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing process documentation and quality deliverables.
