Job summary

Global Power Components in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a hands-on Senior Manufacturing Engineer for its Electrical Equipment Solutions. You will lead tooling, fixtures, and equipment projects for UL 891 switchboards and other large electrical assemblies, while improving throughput, quality, and on-time delivery.

Proven ability to develop scalable ERP data in Epicor, define routings and BOMs, and collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Quality, IT, and Supply Chain is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–15 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.
• Hands-on working style with a “let’s go see” mentality.
• Comfortable on the production floor with urgency and multiple priorities in a fast-paced growth environment.
• Strong ability to read technical drawings, fabrication prints, and customer specifications.
• Experience creating SOPs, standard work, routings, and scalable manufacturing documentation.
• Strong communication skills across office and shop-floor teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, specify, procure, and implement tooling, fixtures and equipment for scalable production of UL 891 switchboards and large electrical assemblies.
• Troubleshoot tooling, equipment, and process issues; implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with Industrial Engineers and production staff to implement flexible manufacturing solutions for low-volume, high-mix ETO and CTO production.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement, DFM, and cost-saving opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Develop and maintain accurate bills of material, labor standards, routings, and work instructions in Epicor ERP.
• Collaborate with IT, Production, and Quality to implement the MES for better production visibility and control.
• Translate customer drawings and specifications into manufacturing plans and routings.
• Optimize processes to improve throughput, reduce waste, and increase on-time delivery.
• Support new product introductions, custom orders, and engineering changes from release through production.
• Lead capital equipment projects from concept through implementation and stabilization.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.
