Job summary

Global Power Components in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a hands-on Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve manufacturing operations in an engineered-to-order environment. You will focus on production support, process optimization, routing accuracy, labor efficiency, and cross-functional execution with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering.
• 5–15 years of Manufacturing Engineering in production environments.
• Hands-on Epicor ERP experience (routing, BOMs, costing, changes).
• Experience in metal fabrication, welding, heavy equipment, or engineered-to-order.
• Ability to read technical drawings and customer specifications.
• Experience creating SOPs, standard work, routings, scalable documentation.
• Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, and CI tools.
• Strong communication between office and shop floor.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day engineering support for fabrication, welding, paint, assembly, and final integration.
• Translate drawings and specifications into manufacturing plans and routings.
• Develop bills of materials, labor standards, routings, and work instructions in Epicor.
• Optimize processes to improve throughput, reduce waste, and ensure on-time delivery.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Production leaders to improve scheduling readiness and material flow.
• Drive continuous improvement in labor efficiency, cycle time, and scrap reduction.
• Audit ERP data integrity for jobs, methods, materials, costing.
• Support new product introductions, custom orders, and engineering changes from release to production.
• Collaborate with IE, Quality, Purchasing, and Design on plant-wide initiatives.
• Assist in fixture design, tooling improvements, automation opportunities, and capital projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.
