Job summary

Cleveland Gear Co. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and improve manufacturing methods for precision gear products in Cleveland, OH.

The role requires a mechanical engineering background and strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities to design tooling, develop NC/CNC programs, and maintain process documentation. The candidate will balance quality, cost, and delivery while implementing continuous improvements and supporting ISO-9000, QS-9000, TS-16949, and 6-SIGMA procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering; 5–10 years of manufacturing, statistics, manufacturing engineering, and/or quality experience.
• Experience with ISO-9000, QS-9000, TS-16949 and 6-SIGMA procedures is desirable.
• Develop and maintain documentation to include NC and CNC programs and tooling information for operators.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
• Develop and maintain sequence of operations to produce parts per drawings.
• Specify and design tooling to produce parts and create NC/CNC programs and drawings.
• Specify gauging and inspection frequency to ensure parts meet drawings.
• Serve as shop liaison to resolve manufacturing problems and maintain schedules.
• Identify corrective actions to maintain quality, delivery, and cost.
• Recognize manufacturability features to reduce cost.
• Implement continuous improvements to reduce lead-time and cost.
