Job summary

Sigil Partners is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for complex parts in the Cincinnati area. The role focuses on manufacturability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to meet quality and safety standards.

You will create process documentation, specify tooling and fixturing, and work with machining, fabrication, and assembly teams to resolve production issues and support new product introductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Experience path from CNC Machinist to Manufacturing Engineer is ideal.
• Hands-on machining and process optimization experience.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and safety standards.
• Data-driven problem solving encouraged.

Job description

The Manufacturing Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Cincinnati Metropolitan Area. This position is responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for complex parts, including evaluating designs for manufacturability and driving continuous improvement in production efficiency and quality. Day-to-day tasks include creating process documentation and work instructions, specifying tooling and fixturing, coordinating with machining, fabrication, and assembly teams, and resolving production issues. The role also involves collaborating with engineering, quality, and operations to support new product introductions, reduce costs, improve throughput, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. The Manufacturing Engineer will use data-driven analysis to identify improvement opportunities and support a culture of operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Someone coming up from experience as a CNC Machinist and then into a Manufacturing Engineer role is ideal.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated expertise in Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Processes for complex, mission-critical parts.
• Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering principles applied to production environments.
• Hands-on experience with Machining operations, tooling selection, and process optimization.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM tools and familiarity with CNC equipment and shop-floor practices.
• Ability to analyze production data, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and shop personnel.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, and standard safety and quality practices.
• Experience in metal fabrication, assembly, and/or additive manufacturing is beneficial.
• Experience with NX software for tool-path creation and optimization is not required but highly preferred.
