Job summary

Cleveland Gear Co in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to perform dimensional and visual inspections on manufactured components using hand tools, CMM, and GD&T methods. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.

You will document inspection results, support manufacturing and engineering with quality data, and ensure compliance with procedures and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Two years of vocational or technical schooling.
• Five years of general inspection experience including CMM.
• Strong GD&T and measurement skills.
• Proficiency with Excel and inspection documentation.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and recognize inspection needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, first-piece, in-process, final, layout, and first-article inspections in accordance with drawings, specifications, inspection plans, and quality procedures.
• Operate CMM equipment using approved inspection programs, including part setup, probe qualification, program execution, and review of inspection reports.
• Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T requirements, including datum reference frames, position, profile, orientation, runout, and form controls.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain quality records.
• Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming products.
• Provide shop-floor inspection support.
