Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to help shape producibility, process rigor, and manufacturing readiness across the product lifecycle. You will lead DFMA, guide process qualification, and address complex technical issues while mentoring junior engineers and aligning internal manufacturing with ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent years of experience.
• 6+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on fabrication/assembly experience.
• Ability to read and generate blueprints, drawings, and technical diagrams.
• Familiarity with material properties, in-process verification, and validation methods.
• Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Leads DFMA activities and drives producibility across product development.
• Applies manufacturing engineering principles to establish robust, repeatable processes.
• Mentors junior manufacturing engineers and provides SME in DFMA and SPC.
• Oversees material and resource planning to support production schedules.
• Plans manufacturing workflows, resource requirements, and line capacity.
• Resolves complex technical challenges affecting design, development, and production.
• Oversees process qualification activities and supports product qualification efforts.
• Performs responsibilities consistent with Manufacturing Engineer I, II, and III.
