Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to shape producibility and process rigor across the product lifecycle. You will lead DFMA efforts, guide process qualification, and mentor junior engineers while supporting ERP integration and production readiness.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one, with hands-on fabrication experience and strong GD&T knowledge. Join a mission-driven team delivering critical space & defense systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on fabrication and assembly experience.
• Ability to read and generate blueprints, drawings, and technical diagrams.
• Familiarity with material properties, in-process verification, and validation methods.
• Proficiency in GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Leads DFMA activities and drives producibility during product development.
• Applies manufacturing engineering principles to establish robust, repeatable processes.
• Mentors junior manufacturing engineers and provides subject matter expertise in DFMA and SPC.
• Oversees material and resource planning to support production schedules.
• Plans manufacturing workflows, resources, and line capacity to meet demand.
• Resolves complex technical challenges affecting design, development, and production continuity.
• Oversees process qualification and supports product qualification efforts.
