Karman Space & Defense in Mukilteo, WA seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to ensure producibility and robustness across the product lifecycle. You will work with design teams to apply design-for-manufacturability, lead process development, and drive improvements in fabrication and assembly operations.

The role emphasizes ERP integration, production planning, and mentoring engineers to deliver high‑quality space and defense systems on schedule, supporting critical missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant industry experience.
• Ability to read and generate blueprints, drawings, and technical diagrams.
• Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• U.S. DoD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Leads design-for-manufacturability activities within product design teams to strengthen producibility and process robustness.
• Applies broad manufacturing engineering knowledge to guide design, development, and production decisions.
• Mentors junior manufacturing engineers and provides subject matter expertise on design for manufacturability and statistical process controls.
• Oversees material and resource planning to support schedule adherence.
• Plans manufacturing workflows, production line capacity, and resource utilization based on forecasted needs.
• Solves complex technical problems to maintain momentum in product design, development, and production.
• Supports implementation and validation of internal processes, including ERP system integration.
• Oversees process qualification activities alongside product qualification efforts.
