Job summary

Karman Space and Defense is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Huntington Beach, CA to drive DFMA with the product design team and ensure robust, producible manufacturing processes. You will guide qualification, support ERP integration, and mentor engineers across levels.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in manufacturing engineering, strong GD&T skills, and the ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance. This role reports to the IPT Lead in a full-time capacity.

Qualifications

• BS in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 6+ years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience in fabrication/assembly environments and reading blueprints.
• DoD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Lead DFMA activities as an integral member of the product design team.
• Apply broad manufacturing engineering principles to ensure producibility and process robustness.
• Mentor junior manufacturing engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on DFMA and statistical process controls.
• Oversee material and resource planning to maintain production schedules.
• Plan manufacturing workflows, resource needs, and production line capacity aligned with forecasts.
• Resolve complex technical issues to support product design, development, and production continuity.
• Oversee process qualification and support product qualification activities.
• Perform duties aligned with Manufacturing Engineer I, II, and III functional responsibilities as needed.
