Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Sr Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer to join our Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Huntsville, AL, supporting inert composite rocket motor hardware fabrication and assembly. You will lead process improvements, develop work instructions, and ensure compliance with design, quality, safety, and environmental requirements.

The role requires hands-on manufacturing experience, lean execution, and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) with manufacturing experience.
• Graduate Degree accepted with 4+ years manufacturing experience.
• 10 years of manufacturing experience in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Champion process improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Plan, develop, initiate and maintain processes for fabrication of advanced composite parts.
• Create work instructions, PFMEAs, and JSAs meeting requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to shop floor, design and management teams.
• Travel up to 5% to support suppliers or other sites.
• Interface with support groups to ensure safety, control and quality.
