Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer (1st Shift) to support the Advanced Manufacturing Facility for inert rocket motor hardware fabrication and assembly. The role requires hands-on process management, documentation, and collaboration across shop floor, design, and management teams.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s (or higher) in a related field with several years of manufacturing experience, and the ability to obtain a US security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior manufacturing experience.
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior manufacturing experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Champion process improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Plan, develop, initiate and maintain processes for the fabrication of advanced composite parts.
• Create detailed work instructions, procedures, PFMEAs, and JSAs that meet design, process, quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and/or training to shop floor, design and management teams.
