Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems on Space Coast, FL. You will ensure quality control across production and collaborate with design, QA, and supply chain to streamline operations.

The role focuses on manufacturability, process documentation, and introducing advanced manufacturing methods such as composites, precision machining, and additive manufacturing to improve timelines and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role.
• 1+ years of experience creating English work instructions.
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency (or lawful admission as a refugee or asylum seeker).
• Ability to work second shift and flexibility to move shifts as needed; extended hours if required.

Responsibilities

• Support the industrialization of new tank assemblies including welding, inspection, proof test, surface coatings, and integration.
• Contribute to design for manufacturability, design for assembly, and design for test.
• Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate closely with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods such as composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, and advanced assembly.
• Support root cause analysis of process or product non‑conformances; develop and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all work aligns with applicable quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).
• Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment.
• Identify and complete opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction.
