Job summary

ITT Inc. is seeking a senior machinist to set up and operate a variety of manual machines, including lathes and grinders, reading blueprints and tolerances to produce prototype and production parts.

The role requires leadership of small teams and the ability to program Gibbs or similar software, with a strong focus on quality and efficiency. Ideal candidates will have at least 10 years of machine shop experience, own basic tools (calipers, micrometers), and be capable of working from complex

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years machine shop experience as a machinist setting up and operating manual machines.
• Must be able to read blueprints, job specifications and drawings with precision.
• Must be able to work within tolerances of .0002 in in a high-pressure environment.
• Must have own basic tools such as calipers, micrometers and dial indicators.

Responsibilities

• Machine prototype and production parts, perform production rework and some tooling fabrication.
• Set up and run all manual machines including grinders.
• Perform all machining operations to fabricate parts and pilot production units.
• Work from blueprints and plans methods to produce parts that conform to specifications.
• Inspect own work per drawing requirements.
• Determine machine speeds and feeds and lay out parts for successive operations.
• Provide technical assistance to lower classifications.
