ITT Aerospace Controls LLC in Valencia, CA is seeking a Sr. Machinist (Machinist IV) to join skilled shop floor, setting up and operating a range of manual machines from lathes to grinders to produce prototype parts and assemblies.

Working from blueprints, you will lay out parts, determine speeds/feeds, and inspect your own work to exact tolerances (.0002"). Previous Gibbs programming and leadership of small teams are valued; candidates must bring 10+ years of experience and own basic tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of machine shop experience as a machinist.
• Welding, brazing, CNC and jig bore experience helpful.
• Programming experience using Gibbs or other programming software.
• Leadership experience leading small groups (4-6) of Machinists.
• Must be able to set up and operate a variety of manual machines such as lathes, mills, precision grinders, drill presses, and punch presses (3 axis, 5 axis).
• Must be able to make parts from blueprints, job specifications, hand drawn sketches and/or verbal instructions; tolerate .0002".
• Must perform shop computations using geometry and trigonometry.

Responsabilités

• Machine prototype and production parts, perform production rework and some tooling fabrication.
• Set up and run all manual machines including grinders; may operate two or more machines at once.
• Perform all machining operations to fabricate parts, models, devices and pilot production units.
• Work from blueprints and plans to conform to specifications.
• Inspects own work per drawing requirements.
• Lay out parts for successive machining operations and determine speeds/feeds.
• Program machines to reduce setup times and balance workloads.
