Job summary

Unum is seeking a senior leadership role responsible for directing a team that manages claims across multiple lines and brands. The incumbent will guide strategic initiatives, drive operational excellence, and partner with stakeholders to deliver superior customer experiences.

The role emphasizes change leadership, people management, and the ability to navigate a dynamic benefits environment while ensuring adherence to plan provisions and regulations. Travel ~20% is expected.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred plus 5-7 years of increasingly responsible management experience.
• Proven demonstration of strong leadership skills, including ability to guide others in setting direction, monitoring performance, and initiating and communicating changes in direction as needed.
• Proven ability to excel in a fast paced, changing, dynamic environment by applying change management practices to support and drive change throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of best-in-class customer experience for voluntary benefits.
• Manage leaders and/or individual contributors for multiple lines of business, products, and/or brands.
• Lead a diverse team with people management, coaching and development to create a high-performance environment.
• Attract, build, and strengthen exceptional leadership qualities at all levels.
• Ensure quality and accountability for accurate adjudication of claims per contract/plan provisions and regulations.
• Monitor budget, spend, and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
• Identify opportunities for customer service, productivity, and quality improvements in a fast-paced setting and coach others.
• Champion a customer-centric culture focused on end-to-end experience and process efficiency.
• Travel approximately 20%.
