Job summary

OpenGov is seeking a Senior Manager, Payroll to own US payroll end-to-end across multiple jurisdictions. You will document processes, strengthen controls, and automate where possible to scale the function as the company grows.

This in-office role collaborates with Finance, HR, and Legal and may expand to equity administration. Responsibilities include end-to-end payroll processing, tax compliance, 401(k)/HSA/FSA administration, and quarterly/yearly tax reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in accounting/finance.
• 8+ years of US payroll experience with multi-state knowledge.
• Hands-on with Workday Payroll and ADP SmartCompliance.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end US payroll processing with accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage payroll tax compliance across jurisdictions and audits.
• Administer 401(k), HSA, and FSA contributions and deductions.
• Provide RSU tax information and support RSU administration over time.
• Lead quarterly and year-end employment tax reporting (W-2, 1099, 940/941).
• Reconcile payroll GLs and support month-end close and audits.
• Design payroll controls and drive automation where possible.
