Job summary

Fidelity Investments is seeking a Senior Manager for Time Away from Work Programs to design, govern, and enhance Fidelity’s time away offerings. You will collaborate across HR, Legal, Compliance, and external vendors to ensure an exceptional associate experience while maintaining regulatory compliance.

You will translate business needs into program enhancements, lead cross-functional initiatives, and drive execution of Fidelity’s time away strategy.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of experience in benefits, leave of absence administration, HR policy, compliance, or related programs.
• Strong knowledge of time away programs, including applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Experience supporting cross-functional initiatives from strategy through implementation.
• Analytical capabilities with data, metrics, and insights for decision-making.
• Excellent communication and relationship management across HR, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assess program performance, utilization trends, market practices, and associate feedback to develop recommendations and business cases.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, manage policy implementations, maintain guidelines, and ensure consistent interpretation of time away policies.
• Partner with HR Shared Services and capacity planning to optimize program administration.
• Collaborate with Legal and Compliance to monitor regulatory developments and support audits and governance.
• Leverage data and reporting to identify trends and inform leadership decisions, and develop training materials.

The Role

As the Senior Manager, Time Away from Work Programs, you will support the Director of Time Off Strategy and Benefits Insights in designing, implementing, governing, and continuously enhancing Fidelity’s time away from work programs. You will collaborate across Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, business unit capacity planning teams, and external vendors and industry groups to deliver time away programs that provide an exceptional associate experience while maintaining operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

As a subject matter expert, you will translate business needs and market trends into program enhancements, lead cross-functional initiatives, and help drive the execution of Fidelity’s time away from work strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess program performance, utilization trends, market practices, and associate feedback to develop recommendations and business cases that support the evolution of Fidelity’s time away from work offerings
• Coordinate cross-functional working teams, manage policy and program implementations, maintain program documentation and administrative guidelines, and ensure consistent interpretation and application of time away policies
• Partner with HR Shared Services and business unit capacity planning teams to optimize program administration and improve operational processes that simplify the associate experience
• Collaborate with Legal and Compliance partners to monitor regulatory developments and support policy updates, audits, risk assessments, and governance activities that ensure compliance with applicable time away laws and regulations
• Leverage data and reporting to identify trends, measure program effectiveness, inform leadership decision-making, and develop communications, training materials, and resources that help associates and HR partners navigate time away from work programs

The Expertise and Skills you Bring

• 5–8 plus years of experience in benefits, leave of absence administration, HR policy, compliance, or related programs
• Strong knowledge of time away programs, including applicable federal, state, and local regulations, with the ability to translate complex requirements into practical business solutions
• Demonstrated experience supporting cross-functional initiatives and driving program, policy, or process changes from strategy and planning through implementation and execution
• Proven analytical capabilities with experience using data, metrics, and insights to identify trends, develop recommendations, and support decision-making
• Strong communication, relationship management, and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across HR, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and business stakeholders
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
• Skilled at navigating ambiguity, solving complex problems, and balancing operational needs, associate experience, and compliance requirements
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint; experience with HRIS, leave management, or benefits administration systems preferred
• Assist with various projects; and other duties as assigned

This role reports into the Head of Financial and Work Life Benefits.
The Benefits team is a small but powerful team within the Human Resources function, and our job is to ensure that associate benefit offerings are delivering value to our associates, their families and Fidelity. We listen to associate feedback, benchmark the competition, and then measure every one of the 50 plus programs for which we are responsible.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
