Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior program manager to oversee multiple client projects, driving software development, design, testing, deployment, and release management. You will manage cross‑functional teams, establish SLAs, and coordinate with senior leadership on budgeting and risk analysis.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic oversight, and proven delivery of client‑specific solutions across the project life cycle. Travel across the U.S. is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in CS/Engineering/IT or related field plus 3 years of software development, consulting, or business analysis.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of progressive post-baccalaureate IT experience.
• Experience with one of: Azure, Hadoop/Pig; Java/Spring/Hibernate; JIRA/Power BI; Oracle/SQL Server/Informatica; or COBOL/JCL/DB2.
• Travel to various locations in the U.S. required; travel up to 5% annually; international travel not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and oversee development, testing, and implementation of customized software applications for multiple projects.
• Lead software‑specific design and realization.
• Oversee testing, deployment, release management, or technical and functional application management of client‑specific package‑based solutions.
• Review project plans and formulate and implement project activity.
• Direct daily department operations, including workflow analysis, priority setting, workload and assignment coordination, standards development, and deadline setting.
• Define application service level agreements and devise plans based on business criticality.
• Maintain client relationships and meet regularly with Senior Management.
• Collaborate with Senior Management on risk analysis, client interface, budgeting, and quality assurance.
• Select, monitor, and interface with offshore software development teams.
• Manage quality control and compliance with delivery schedules throughout the project life cycle.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables.

Job description

Requirements

• Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Math, Business, Information Technology, or a related field, plus three (3) years of software development, consulting, or business analysis experience in IT field; alternatively, Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in one of these fields plus six (6) years of progressive post‑baccalaureate experience
• At least one (1) year of technical IT work experience using one of these skill sets: Azure, Hadoop and Pig; Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate; JIRA, Power BI, and Tibco Spotfire; Oracle, Unix Shell Scripting, and PL/SQL; Oracle, SQL Server, and Informatica; or COBOL, JCL, and DB2
• All experience may be acquired concurrently
• Travel and relocation to various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. required based on business needs
• Travel not to exceed 5% per year
• International travel not required
