Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior software engineer to design and deliver integrated cloud-based solutions. You will ensure system resiliency, scalability, and cost-efficient operations across hybrid environments, while mentoring teams and driving modern software engineering practices.

You will work with Java/Spring Boot, Azure Logic Apps, SQL, and React to implement scalable architectures and integrate third-party systems, collaborating with remote stakeholders and cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
• 5+ years of application development experience.

• Serve as the subject matter expert and go-to resource for designing and delivering integrated solutions and implementation best practices
• Ensure system-wide resiliency, scalability, data strategy, stability, and operational efficiency of solutions
• Develop high-quality technical solutions aligned with customer needs, industry best practices, and approved technology stacks
• Monitor performance and optimize resources for uptime, availability, and cost-effectiveness across hybrid cloud/on-prem environments
• Act as a tier-3 resource to analyze, diagnose, and resolve complex application issues and bugs
• Develop metrics, feedback loops, and corrective actions for systemic improvement
• Experiment with new solutions and cloud best practices to bridge operational gaps
• Mentor development teammates and guide transitions to modern software engineering practices
• Collaborate with internal customers and business partners to understand business problems, workflows, and outcomes
• Evaluate technology acquisitions for supportability, vendor viability, and total cost of ownership
• Coordinate technical resolution and integrations with third-party technology vendors during software rollouts

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related technical degree
• 5+ years of application development experience
• Proven track record designing, developing, and implementing high-performing, large-scale, complex systems
• Experience integrating with third-party applications
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
• Familiarity with cloud ecosystem services, preferably Microsoft Azure, including Logic Apps and messaging infrastructure
• Experience with relational databases and writing SQL
• Familiarity with front-end JavaScript environments such as React
• Strong understanding of event-based/message architectures and data integration techniques
• Understanding of HTTP request/response lifecycles
• Familiarity with cloud security and virtual networking basics, including VNets, IAM roles, and access controls
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for business and technical audiences
• Ability to work independently and navigate complex, undocumented systems
• Passion and patience for mentoring, pair-programming, and developing legacy developers
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and remote team members
