Job summary

Vanta is looking for a Senior Manager, Systems Engineering to lead a team of experienced engineers and own high-priority platform initiatives. You will define technical direction, establish ownership, and build the leadership layer beneath the CE function.

You will drive joiner/mover/leaver automation in Okta Workflows, device assurance across macOS/Windows, and rationalize the ITSM estate to empower self-service and reduce tool sprawl.

Qualifications

• Track record of raising the bar on an inherited team and sustaining results.
• Appetite for untangling inherited complexity, including orphaned endpoints or unfinished migrations.
• Enablement-first instinct: make systems safe to self-serve, not over-controlled.
• Deep technical judgment to distinguish risk from progress.
• Hands-on fluency with AI in enterprise tooling (Okta, Intune, Jamf, Atlassian, GitHub).
• Experience across identity, endpoint, ITSM, and procurement; or deep expertise with expansion of scope.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of systems engineers and a tech lead.
• Own joiner/mover/leaver automation end-to-end in Okta Workflows.
• Build and own device assurance across macOS and Windows with policy ahead of enforcement.
• Rationalize the ITSM estate to enable self-service and focus on platform work.
• Make Corporate Engineering a governed step in SaaS procurement with SSO and auditability.
• Own identity, access, and connector infrastructure behind the AI stack (MCP servers, Vercel).
• Build visibility into work intake and capacity to inform priorities with data.
• Collaborate with Security, GRC, Finance, and Engineering to enable, not gate.
