Job summary

The New School is seeking an Assistant Director to coordinate all student-facing functions of global, exchange, and study abroad programs. You will oversee communications, policies, and programming university-wide for international educational experiences.

You will report to the Assistant Provost for Academic Advising and supervise part-time student assistants, with a hybrid work option and a strong commitment to student development and international education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience related to the position.
• Three (3) years of progressive experience in relevant areas.
• A demonstrated student-centered approach and an understanding of student development.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Preferred: Experience living/working outside the U.S.
• Preferred: Prior Terra Dotta or similar software experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee study abroad and exchange advising and support services for all students across the university.
• Manage all aspects of the study abroad application process and pre-departure programming.
• Serve as the primary advisor for international scholarships and fellowships (e.g., Gilman, Fulbright, Boren).
• Liaise with university offices and external partners regarding mobility students.
• Oversee Terra Dotta application management and safety protocols for international travel.
• Develop information events and orientations for students, staff and faculty.
