The New School is seeking an Assistant Director of Academic Advising to lead advising for undergraduate and graduate students across multiple programs and campuses, while supervising advising staff and driving program improvements.

The role emphasizes holistic student support, policy guidance, and collaboration with faculty and campus partners to promote persistence, degree completion, and timely graduation. Hybrid in-person work is possible, with on-site responsibilities.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years of related experience with a focus on student engagement and advising.
• 2 years of experience supervising or co-supervising individuals.
• Superior student services skills.
• Experience developing and/or implementing policy as pertains to student status at a college or university.
• Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Direct Student Advising & Academic Planning to support student success, persistence, retention, and graduation.
• Guide students in academic planning and goal setting, using assessment tools and individualized support.
• Advise on university policies including transfer credits, degree requirements, and standing.
