Job summary

UNC Charlotte is seeking an Assistant Director for Education Abroad to support daily operations, advise students on study abroad, exchange and affiliate programs, and help develop new programs and partnerships. You will coordinate pre-departure and re-entry orientations, contribute to risk management, expand participation, lead campus outreach, and supervise Education Abroad staff and interns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year of professional experience in a study abroad office.
• Master’s degree in International Education, Higher Education, or related field preferred.
• Four years of professional experience in education abroad is desirable.
• One year of supervisory experience in international higher education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the advising manager for all education abroad programs, research, and related opportunities.
• Meet with academic departments for annual program review and evaluation.
• Oversee pre-departure orientation, re-entry and scholarship programs.
• Organize Education Abroad Fairs, the annual Photo Contest, and other events.
• Administer applications and registrations for designated exchange programs.
• Maintain and develop web-based information and materials for study abroad programs.
• Supervise the Education Abroad Advisor, Study Abroad Ambassadors, and interns.
• Advise students on exchange, affiliate, hybrid, and direct enrollment opportunities.
• Process grades and coursework records for non-faculty-led programs.
