Job summary

Walmart's Transportation Engineering team seeks a Senior Manager, Automation Engineering to lead the Real-Time Yard Visibility & Orchestration portfolio within the Yard Modernization strategy. You will partner across ops, tech vendors, product, platform, and AI teams to deliver real-time yard visibility and intelligent orchestration across the network.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; 4 years' experience in Engineering, supply chain, or related area OR 6 years' experience in Engineering, supply chain, or related area
2 years' supervisory experience
Experience leading complex technology deployments in transportation, supply chain, automation, or logistics environments
Knowledge of yard management systems, fleet technologies, and asset visibility solutions

Responsibilities

Lead development and deployment of yard modernization solutions including real-time visibility, digital yard mapping, automation, and orchestration capabilities
Partner with ops, vendors, product, platform, and AI teams to build dynamic digital yard maps blending identity, location, status, and workflow context
Define and deploy orchestration capabilities prioritizing yard moves, driver assignments, and coordinated routing
Define requirements for path planning, task prioritization, performance measurement, and continuous improvement using real-time data
Manage pilots, deployments, vendor relationships, and business cases to drive measurable outcomes
