Job summary

Walmart is seeking a Manager, Automation Engineering to lead the strategy, design, and planning of storage capacity across the Ambient First Mile network in Bentonville, AR. You will drive storage densification, capital planning, and vendor selection to maximize asset utilization while maintaining flexibility for future needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; 2 years’ engineering/supply chain experience or 4 years’ related experience.
• Ability to develop business cases, perform financial analysis, and secure capital investments.
• Experience leading complex projects from concept through approval and implementation.
• Knowledge of supply chain network design, inventory management, and SKU storage strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead Ambient First Mile storage strategy and long-range capacity roadmap.
• Design and evaluate storage densification solutions to increase capacity and asset utilization.
• Develop business cases, seek capital approval, and lead vendor selection for storage capacity investments.
• Create data-driven network storage strategies supporting SKU growth and inventory needs.
• Assess and refine SKU management to maximize network flexibility and utilization.
• Partner with operations, finance, real estate, and technology teams to align capacity investments with network strategy.
• Use analytics and scenario modeling to identify constraints and guide investment decisions.
