Job summary

Hanwha Qcells USA Corp is seeking a Senior Manager, Project Accounting in Houston, TX. This role will lead the Project Accounting team, oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for utility-scale solar and BESS projects, and collaborate across finance and project teams to ensure accurate accounting and strong financial controls.

The position offers a hybrid/remote work arrangement with up to four days on-site for local candidates and up to travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, project-based environment.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
• Excellent analytical and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration within project teams.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and develop the Project Accounting team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for projects, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Manage department cash flow by monitoring invoicing, and payments, working closely with project teams and external partners as needed.
• Drive the strategic financial planning of all construction projects, including cost analysis, profitability assessments, and risk management.
• Collaborate with senior management to align project accounting practices with overall company financial strategies.
• Ensure accuracy of financial data and reports, leveraging advanced software and systems.
• Act as a key financial advisor for project and commercial managers, providing insights and recommendations to optimize financial performance.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Accountants and Commercial Managers to support commercial and financial administrative aspects of assigned projects.
• Assist in the preparation of reports, including variance analysis, forecasts, and financial statements.
• Support Commercial Management in assessing project risks and opportunities related to project finances.
• Collaborate with project teams to resolve financial issues and discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Assist in the preparation of project close-out activities, including final financial reconciliations and reporting.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of data in tracking and forecast tools across all self-perform construction projects.
