Job summary

Share Our Strength in Washington, DC or fully remote is seeking a Senior Manager, Program Communications to translate complex research, legislation, and program impact into compelling content for policymakers, partners, advocates, practitioners, and the media.

You will develop messaging and assets, including testimony, talking points, toolkits, briefings, presentations, and digital content for national and state efforts, reporting to the Director, Program Communications.

Qualifications

• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with ability to translate policy content into accessible communications.
• Experience turning complex research, policy, or legislative content into audience-centered materials.
• Ability to develop content for policymakers, advocates, partners, and media.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic communications approaches using storytelling, visuals, data, and audience-driven content.
• Create written and visual assets including testimony, talking points, one-pagers, fact sheets, toolkits, presentations, and digital content.
• Translate complex legislative language and research findings into clear, compelling communications.
• Draft and edit content for policymakers, partners, practitioners, advocates, and media.
• Ensure materials are on-brand and aligned with messaging frameworks.
• Embed equity messaging across content and support cross-team guidelines and training.
• Participate in program planning to align activities with communications opportunities.
• Coordinate with marketing, design, digital, and creative teams for integrated campaigns.
• Maintain and organize content libraries for internal stakeholders.
