Job summary

Plan C is seeking a Director of Communications to lead the organization’s strategic communications, campaigns, and media presence. You will translate public health priorities into compelling content and oversee a team across social media, design, video, and PR.

You will shape messaging, manage external partners, and drive audience growth while navigating a dynamic policy and media landscape in a remote work setup with preference for US West and East coast candidates.

Qualifications

• 6–8+ years of communications experience in health, nonprofit, or advocacy sectors.
• Ability to lead campaigns from concept through evaluation and impact.
• Experience supervising staff, contractors, and creative partners.
• Strong creative direction, storytelling, and editorial judgment.
• Experience coordinating multi-channel campaigns including PR and digital.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead Plan C's overarching communications strategy, audience targeting, and measurable outcomes.
• Lead integrated campaigns from concept through execution and evaluation.
• Supervise communications staff, contractors, agencies and partners with clear priorities.
• Coordinate editorial calendars and content distribution across social, newsletters, events and media.
• Provide creative direction and oversight to ensure timely delivery aligned with priorities.
