Job summary

Reason Foundation’s Fiscal Lab seeks a Communications and Operations Manager to oversee media relations, social media, and CSFR logistics. The role blends external communications with behind‑the‑scenes coordination and benefits from Capitol Hill experience.

This position is primarily remote, with in‑person engagement in Washington, DC for CSFR events and Hill meetings. It requires strong writing, project management, and policy awareness; 2–5+ years experience and nonprofit or think tank

Qualifications

• Capitol Hill experience and understanding of fiscal policy.
• Experience with media outreach to Washington outlets.
• Strong writing skills for policy and DC audiences.
• Proven ability to manage multiple logistics in a virtual setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage logistics for CSFR events, speaker outreach, scheduling.
• Develop and execute social media strategy and content.
• Draft and schedule social posts for research, events, Weekly Lab Report.
• Collaborate with research staff to translate policy work for external audiences.
• Support ad hoc operations tasks (event logistics, vendor coordination).
• Track engagement and media metrics and report on communications performance.
