Job summary

Stand Together seeks a Communications and Operations Manager for The Fiscal Lab to oversee media relations, social media, and event logistics with a Washington focus. This hybrid role blends external communications on Capitol Hill with behind-the-scenes coordination, supporting CSFR activities and policy outreach from the DC area.

The position prioritizes strong writing, media outreach, and project coordination, with experience on Capitol Hill and nonprofit policy work.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Capitol Hill experience strongly preferred; familiarity with congressional offices and fiscal policy.
• Experience working with Washington media, including press outreach.
• Strong written communication; able to write for a policy and DC audience.
• Experience with social media management tools and platforms.
• Highly organized; able to manage multiple logistics threads in a virtual environment.
• Strong interest in fiscal policy, economics, or public policy.
• Prior nonprofit or think tank experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage logistics for CSFR events and initiatives, including speaker outreach and scheduling.
• Develop and execute social media strategy and content across platforms.
• Draft and schedule social posts promoting Fiscal Lab research and events.
• Collaborate with research staff to translate policy work for external audiences.
• Support ad hoc operations tasks (event logistics, vendor coordination, internal processes).
• Track engagement and media metrics and report on communications performance.
