Job summary

The University of Miami offers an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Manager, Patient Access at our main campus. This role leads front end revenue cycle operations for multiple clinics and partners with administrators to optimize performance.

The candidate will oversee staffing, budgeting, policy development, and KPI achievement while driving continuous improvement and regulatory compliance within the UHealth system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of business and management principles.
• Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
• Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
• Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
• Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, supervises, trains, and disciplines staff, and prepares performance reports.
• Ensures adequate staffing is maintained on a 24-hour basis.
• Plans, organizes, and controls daily patient access operations to ensure department goals are met.
• Implements key business initiatives across critical areas and meets KPIs (e.g., patient satisfaction, co-pay, denials).
• Establishes short and long-term goals and executes strategic actions.
• Provides patient access reports to faculty, administrators, and staff.
• Develops and updates departmental policies and procedures.
• Develops and implements the department’s annual budget.
• Identifies opportunities for cost reduction.
• Maintains knowledge of rules and regulations and educates staff on variations.
• Ensures internal controls and compliance with University policies.
