Location

This remote role within the eastern or central US requires travel across the country, mainly in IL, OH, MI, IN, PA, TN, MD, NJ, & WV. Ideal candidates will reside near a major airport in the Great Lakes, Mid-West, or Mid-Atlantic regions, or near our offices for a hybrid work setup. Travel expenses are covered by the company.

Primary Purpose of the Position

The Senior Manager of Sales will lead a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs), focusing on acquiring new Energy Efficiency projects, aligning with company growth and initiatives. Responsibilities include managing sales activities, developing territory strategies, coaching teams, and ensuring sales targets are met.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage and guide the sales team, ensuring performance and pipeline development.
  2. Develop sales strategies aligned with a consultative sales approach.
  3. Lead pipeline reviews and support customer meetings.
  4. Build and maintain a network within assigned territories.
  5. Coach and mentor team members, providing training on industry trends and sales techniques.
  6. Handle administrative duties including performance reviews and hiring.
  7. Create sales forecasts, monitor KPIs, and report to leadership.
  8. Collaborate with project teams to ensure customer satisfaction and project completion.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of solutions-based sales experience in relevant industries or a related field with established contacts in government or education sectors.
  • Prior sales management experience in a consultative environment.
  • Proven success in developing and managing sales territories and closing complex transactions.
  • Strong networking, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems and MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Over 4 years of sales management experience.
  • Deep understanding of building and mechanical infrastructure, technologies, and systems.
  • Experience in energy-related sales cycles exceeding 12 months.
  • Formal sales training and familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM.
