Location

This remote role is based within the eastern or central United States, with travel across the country (approx. 60%), focusing on IL, OH, MI, IN, PA, TN, MD, NJ, & WV. Candidates should reside near a major airport in the Great Lakes, Mid-West, or Mid-Atlantic regions, or near our office locations, for a hybrid work setup.

Primary Purpose of the Position

The Senior Manager of Sales will oversee a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs), focusing on acquiring new energy efficiency projects, aligning with growth objectives, and leading a consultative sales approach. Responsibilities include territory development, customer engagement, mentorship, sales strategy, and budget management.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage and guide BDMs, driving sales performance and pipeline development within assigned territories.
  2. Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse sales team, ensuring they stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes.
  3. Oversee administrative functions including performance reviews, hiring, and team management.
  4. Develop sales forecasts, monitor KPIs, and leverage CRM data for insights.
  5. Collaborate with project teams to ensure customer needs are met and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of consultative sales experience in relevant industries such as energy efficiency, infrastructure upgrades, or related fields.
  • Experience in sales management, leading high-performing teams, and developing strategic sales plans.
  • Proven success in complex sales, network development, and negotiations with C-suite executives.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with proficiency in CRM and MS Office.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Over 4 years of sales management experience.
  • Deep understanding of building and mechanical systems and related technologies.
  • Experience with long sales cycles and formal sales training.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar CRM systems.
