Location

This remote role within the eastern or central US requires travel across the country, mainly in IL, OH, MI, IN, PA, TN, MD, NJ, & WV. Ideal candidates will live near a major airport or one of our offices for a hybrid work setup, with at least 60% travel expected.

Primary Purpose of Position

The Senior Manager of Sales will lead a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs), focusing on acquiring new Energy Efficiency projects, aligning with growth objectives. Responsibilities include managing a sales team, developing sales strategies, coaching, and ensuring achievement of sales goals.

Key Duties
  1. Manage and guide BDMs in prospecting, cultivating, and acquiring new projects.
  2. Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with a consultative sales approach.
  3. Lead pipeline reviews, support customer meetings, and mentor team members.
  4. Expand territory development and customer engagement.
  5. Manage sales metrics, forecasts, and budgets.
  6. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project delivery aligns with customer needs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of solutions-based sales experience in relevant industries.
  • Sales management experience in a consultative environment.
  • Proven success in developing and managing sales territories and exceeding quotas.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with CRM platforms and MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of sales management experience.
  • Knowledge of building and mechanical systems, and experience with Energy Savings Performance Contracting or similar fields.
  • Experience managing long sales cycles and formal sales training.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar CRM systems.
