Job summary

RTX’s Raytheon Electronic Warfare group in Goleta, CA seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and develop EW electronics for defense applications. This onsite role focuses on mixed-signal FPGA-based systems, RF considerations, and robust hardware architectures in a mission-focused environment.

You will lead design activities, mentor peers, and contribute to formal documentation, test plans, and BOM management while delivering high-performance airborne products.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, signal integrity, and FPGA-based digital/mixed-signal systems.
• Familiarity with RF circuitry and system interfaces is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of airborne electronic products meeting size, weight, power, reliability, and cost targets.
• Develop hardware architectures and create detailed BOMs for complex assemblies.
• Lead activities for smaller programs and support multiple programs concurrently.
• Prepare requirements documentation, design artifacts, verification/test plans, and failure analyses.
• Mentor lower-level engineers and drive process improvements.
