Job summary

Raytheon in Goleta, CA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the mechanical development and enhancements for airborne EW systems. You will interface with multiple teams and lead junior engineers on assignments while ensuring program success and robust packaging, thermal and RF isolation.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience, GD&T proficiency, and CREO-based design. Onsite work in Goleta with potential travel to other facilities is expected.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME drawing standards.
• Mechanical engineering lifecycle experience including detailed design, packaging, hardware integration and testing.

Responsibilities

• Participate in designing RF systems for thermal and high vibration environments.
• Lead programs as REA or ITPL and liaison to programs to ensure success.
• Work with electronics packaging design, including thermal/structural design and analysis, PCB assembly processes and RF isolation design.
