Job summary

Raytheon in Goleta, CA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the design, integration, verification and production of RF receiver subsystems for airborne platforms. You will contribute to thermal and structural design, support hardware integration, and work across programs with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience, CREO proficiency, and knowledge of GD&T and ASME standards.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in STEM and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME drawing standards.
• Mechanical engineering lifecycle experience including detailed design, packaging, manufacturing support, hardware integration and testing.
• Experience with solid modeling and documenting mechanical designs in CREO or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Design RF systems for challenging thermal and high vibration environments.
• Lead programs as a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) or Integrated Product Team Lead (ITPL) and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with electronics packaging design, including thermal/structural design, PCB/assembly processes and related failure modes.
• Occasional travel to other Raytheon facilities, suppliers or customer sites.
