The University of Chicago’s Polsky Center is seeking a Senior Manager for Business Development and Licensing to drive technology transfer across a diverse portfolio. You will cultivate relationships with faculty, industry partners, and investors to identify licensing opportunities, negotiate terms, and manage agreements with startups and established companies.

The role blends legal, strategic, and commercial responsibilities to move discoveries from lab to market.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
• Advanced degree in chemistry, materials science, physics, biology, computer science, bioengineering, molecular engineering, chemical engineering, or related discipline.

Responsabilités

• Drafts, negotiates, executes, and manages intellectual property licenses and related agreements.
• Collaborates with faculty, researchers, and industry partners to achieve objectives.
• Screens inventions for commercialization potential and advises on patentability and licensing strategy.
• Supports licensing opportunities from identification to negotiation and execution.
• Mentors junior staff on agreement workflows and drafting processes.
