Job summary

The University of Chicago’s SIP Polsky Center is seeking a Senior Manager to lead business development and licensing, fostering strong relationships with faculty across the university and coordinating with industry partners and investors to move discoveries toward impact.

You will manage a diverse portfolio within the Technology Ventures team, handling licensing opportunities, negotiations, and related agreements.

Qualifications

• Education: college/university degree in a related field.
• 2–5 years of related work experience.
• Advanced degree in science/engineering fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, execute, and manage IP licenses and related agreements.
• Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and industry partners to meet objectives.
• Screen inventions for commercialization potential.
• Assist in patentability and IP protection discussions.
• Support licensing opportunity identification and negotiations.
• Mentor junior staff on agreement workflows.
