Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior leader to own the Test and Production System Development across test facilities and manufacturing environments at our orbital launch sites. You will guide the full lifecycle from requirements through design, build, activation, and sustaining engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in mechanical, fluids, or test systems engineering with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Experience leading fluid system development lifecycle (design, build, integration, activation).
• Expertise in high-pressure gas and cryogenic fluid systems.
• Experience leading HAZOP and PHA and integrating safety analyses into design.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with distinct schedules and stakeholders.
• Proven track record building high-performing engineering teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for senior leadership.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Own complete test infrastructure and production environment projects from requirements through design, build, and activation; hand off to Test Operations and provide ongoing sustaining engineering.
• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of mechanical/fluids engineers and project managers.
• Drive concurrent test stand and production fluid system projects; manage schedule, budget, and technical performance.
• Partner with DSCE, CAD drafting, Facilities, Safety/EHS, Quality, and other teams to deliver integrated systems.
• Own decisions for high-pressure and cryogenic fluid systems and interfaces.
• Lead and champion HAZOP and PHA processes across projects, ensuring safety analysis is integrated.
• Mitigate programmatic/technical risks and balance short- and long-term needs across customers.
• Set team goals aligned with objectives; report status to senior leadership.
• Develop and retain a high-performing engineering team; provide coaching and career development.
• Promote process improvements and best practices across test stands and fluid systems.
