Job summary

The D. E. Shaw Group is seeking a senior manager to lead the Financial Analysis & Reporting group’s key finance data platform project and oversee adoption of generative AI across the function.

The role involves partnering with senior stakeholders and guiding day‑to‑day business while delivering high‑impact insights. You will own the delivery, translate business needs into requirements, and drive strategic initiatives with strong Excel and quantitative judgment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with at least ten years of relevant experience.
• Strong business-analysis and product-ownership instincts.
• Proven experience managing senior stakeholders and cross‑team priorities.
• Hands‑on use of generative AI tools in real work.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong quantitative judgment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the project manager for the group’s main technology initiative and coordinate with the in‑house engineering team.
• Translate team pain points into well‑scoped requirements and support iterative design with engineering.
• Drive the group’s adoption of generative AI and develop reusable practices across the function.
• Apply generative AI to summarize materials, track projects, and produce deliverables and visualizations.
• Frame problems strategically and shape long‑term plans for the group.
• Collaborate with FA&R leadership to align priorities and manage deadlines and risk across concurrent workstreams.
