Job summary

The D. E. Shaw Group is seeking a Product Manager for the Human Capital Products team to advance data infrastructure that enables people analytics.

You will collaborate with analytics, technology, and human capital teams to deliver scalable BI solutions, leveraging generative AI to derive insights from unstructured data. You will design ETL processes, help build an API layer, and shape AI capabilities to make data more accessible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 4–8 years in product management for data/analytics.
• Proficiency with Excel, SQL and Python.
• Experience with ETL design, BI infrastructure, or API specifications.
• Strong communication, organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design ETL transformations and data schemas for scalable datasets with emphasis on quality.
• Develop the API layer for data access including contracts and permissions.
• Shape generative AI capabilities for data accessibility via natural-language querying, semantic search, and agentic workflows.
• Collaborate with reporting, data science and developer stakeholders to translate needs into solutions.
• Oversee development, testing and rollout of data infrastructure layers.
• Own stakeholder relationships and contribute to sprint planning and operational support.
• Develop deep understanding of the firm's human capital systems and related third-party products.
