Job summary

The D. E. Shaw group seeks a senior associate for its Management Reporting team within Financial Operations. You will deliver executive-ready insights on compensation and management company economics, partnering with senior leadership to influence business decisions.

You will guide analyses, frame issues with commercial judgment, and help scale the team's capabilities, including initiatives in AI, automation, and technology adoption.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in management company finance, compensation consulting, or internal strategy roles at large alternative asset managers.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior decision-makers through reframing analyses and providing new perspectives.
• Proven track record of producing rigorous analysis with imperfect or incomplete data, with experience defining scope in ambiguous situations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior leadership on high-priority analyses tied to compensation and management company economics.
• Frame issues, structure analyses, and present findings in a clear, leadership-ready format.
• Help expand the team’s impact by identifying gaps and scaling capabilities.
• Lead initiatives in generative AI integration, process improvement, and automation.
