Job summary

The D. E. Shaw group is seeking a leader for the FA&R within Financial Operations. You will work closely with executive leadership to shape financial planning processes and drive improvements in forecasting, reporting standards, and analytical capabilities.

You will lead cross-functional projects, develop robust models, and translate complex results into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders with a hands-on approach and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years in strategic finance or related roles.
• Degree in finance, economics, computer science, or related field.
• Strong financial modeling skills.
• Excellent communication with senior audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional projects to answer key strategy questions via financial analysis.
• Develop and maintain robust financial forecasts with scenario planning.
• Create recurring and ad hoc reporting for senior leadership and translate results into insights.
• Assess revenue, expense, capital needs, and other drivers of financial outcomes.
• Build scalable models, tools, and reporting frameworks to improve data quality and decision support.
