Summary of Primary Responsibilities: This position is responsible for leading the Facilities department in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), ISO requirements, and industry best practices. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this position provides results-oriented leadership and creativity to build a world-class organization and establish robust and efficient systems. The Facilities group manages Maintenance and Calibration of all physical assets including process equipment, utilities, and site infrastructure, as well as capital projects. The incumbent will manage a multi-million-dollar budget and engage proactively with local, state, and federal authorities.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide daily leadership and direction to Facilities team ensuring equipment and utility uptime and infrastructure maintenance.
2. Develop and improve preventative maintenance and calibration programs in compliance with regulations and industry standards.
3. Negotiate with outside contractors for repairs and maintenance, maintaining strong vendor relationships.
4. Develop, implement, and monitor budgets; report issues and take corrective actions.
5. Design and plan facility upgrades; lead projects to meet deadlines and budgets.
6. Maintain relationships with building landlords; resolve issues as needed.
7. Ensure site cleanliness and safety, including snow removal, landscaping, and general facility maintenance.
8. Build relationships with authorities; represent Anika’s interests.
9. Support the Facilities team with technical and engineering expertise in collaboration with Engineering.
10. Ensure timely completion of quality workflows such as CAPAs, NCs, PDs, Change Controls.
11. Manage CMMS System (BMRAM) administration, including assets, PMs, CALs, GWRs, and spare parts.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Complexity:

Manages complex issues of tactical and strategic importance, develops and advises teams, and interacts with external officials and vendors.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises internal professionals and contractors within the facilities department.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or life sciences or equivalent experience
• 5+ years in pharmaceuticals or medical devices
• 3+ years in management roles with personnel supervision
• Extensive experience in cGMP facility design, construction, maintenance, and capital projects
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to develop high-performance teams and professional relationships globally
