Join to apply for the Senior Manager - Employee Relations role at Hines

Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager - Employee Relations with Hines, you will be responsible for partnering with the Employee Relations (ER) Department, overseeing daily performance management activities, HR policies, coaching managers, measuring employee satisfaction, and developing programs. You will also participate in union negotiations and dispute resolution. Responsibilities include:

  1. Building relationships with employees to foster open communication and support.
  2. Collaborating with HR functions like Learning and Development, Compensation, HRIS/Payroll, and Diversity & Inclusion to implement HR strategies.
  3. Encouraging a collaborative team environment with regular meetings and development plans.
  4. Providing coaching and guidance to management as a subject matter expert.
  5. Ensuring fair administration of disciplinary actions throughout employment.
  6. Supporting learning initiatives and facilitating relevant training sessions.
  7. Updating ER and HR policies, procedures, and employee communications, and suggesting process improvements.
  8. Designing and implementing Employee Relations programs and surveys to improve satisfaction.
  9. Managing severance eligibility and agreements, ensuring timely payments.
  10. Conducting workplace investigations and partnering with legal counsel for mediations and legal proceedings.
  11. Supporting internal reporting on employment trends and demographics.
  12. Staying informed on employment laws, union agreements, and client-specific requirements.
Qualifications

Minimum requirements include:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field from an accredited institution.
  2. At least ten years of HR Generalist experience in a professional environment.
  3. Experience in multi-state and international employment is preferred.
  4. Experience working in unionized environments is preferred.
  5. Knowledge of employment law and complex employee relations management.
  6. Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and investigative skills.
  7. Ability to handle sensitive information with good judgment.
  8. Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  9. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  10. Ability to work indoors full-time, lift light files, and work over 40 hours as needed.
