Job summary

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York is seeking an Assistant Director of Institutional Giving, Corporate Membership to lead a multi‑tier corporate membership program, focusing on stewardship and ongoing solicitation around MoMA exhibitions and programs.

The role requires 5–10 years of corporate/sponsorship fundraising, exceptional communications, and strong project management, with on-site presence five days a week initially, transitioning to four days weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5–10 years of progressively responsible corporate and/or sponsorship fundraising experience, including donor portfolio management and staff management.
• Superior interpersonal, verbal and written communications, professional negotiating skills, and diplomacy.
• Superior organizational and project management skills with ability to work independently under strict deadlines.
• Ability to handle multiple projects with keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency with budgets and financial documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce or other CRM systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow MoMA's Corporate Membership program, including stewardship and ongoing solicitation of corporate members.
• Develops annual and long-term Corporate Membership strategy and goals to identify, cultivate, and solicit prospects.
• Serve as main point of contact for Corporate Membership, ensuring onboarding, ongoing communication, and retention.
• Collaborate with Trustees, Individual Philanthropy, Corporate Partnership, and Foundation teams to identify prospects and strengthen donor relationships.
• Coordinate barters and in-kind agreements with Marketing, Retail, IT, and other departments.
• Provide regular reports on benefits usage, impressions, and marketing ROI for donors.
• Identify upsell opportunities for memberships, tickets, sponsorships, and gift memberships.
• Greet and escort VIPs as needed; supervise staff and conduct performance reviews.
