Job summary

TerraPower seeks a Senior Manager, Core Materials to lead the Core Materials team in developing, qualifying, and testing materials for Natrium reactor projects. The role focuses on strategic direction, staffing, safety, and collaboration with engineering and external partners.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in nuclear materials, quality programs, and program management within a high-stakes environment. This is a full-time Washington State role with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline; materials science/engineering preferred.
• Minimum 12 years related experience.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory or people leadership experience.
• Experience with nuclear materials in high-temperature and sodium environments.
• Understanding of materials characterization and processing technology.
• Experience with stringent quality programs (ASME NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B).
• Proven ability to manage complex technical programs with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Core Materials team with clear direction and priorities.
• Define strategic/technical direction aligned with Natrium objectives.
• Oversee Core Materials work scope, planning, execution, and integration.
• Manage schedules and budgets with Project Management collaboration.
• Coordinate with executives and external partners to advance core materials and fuel tech.
• Ensure safety and quality culture across the Core Materials organization.
• Recruit, develop, and promote Core Materials staff.
• Maintain high standards of engineering training and qualification.
