Job summary

Montgomery County Department of Permitting Services seeks a Manager III, Grade M3, to oversee the Central Services Unit and manage a $50 million operating budget. You will lead staff, prepare financial reports, and collaborate with senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in finance, accounting, budget analysis, or related field.
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
• Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted.
• Requires completing a Financial Disclosure Statement.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, administers, and monitors the department’s operating budget.
• Oversees the collection and reporting of more than $100 million in revenue.
• Conducts complex analyses, identifies issues, and defends the budget before county officials.
• Oversees unit services and functions, establishes policies, provides direction, and ensures customer service.
• Supervises a staff of six and evaluates performance.
• Other duties as related to the position.
